I like solving puzzles and difficult problems.I had a nonlinear career trajectory working in academic environments and startups, with roles requiring expertise in data engineering, data science, software engineering, research and learning domain knowledge. I enjoyed working on the projects requiring diverse skillset, helped me to have a huge breadth of skillset and technical knowledge, and understanding of various domains and roles.I believe the skillset I acquired during my professional experience best aligns with a \'data engineer\' role, and I am actively looking for a position in tech industry commensurate with my education and experience. Post Ph.D, I have 6 years of relevant data and analytics experience, working on projects in multiple domains (Music app, Biodiversity, GeoScience, Higher Education). I have worked with Big Data (100s TBS - perhaps not so big for many tech industries), built ETL pipelines, designed and managed repositories and databases, enabled big data transfer, built dashboards for data analytics, and used big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) for distributed data computing. I also have hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, EC2, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis) to build data pipelines. I am also an efficient Python programmer, and often use shell/bash scripting in my work. I am hoping to move to the next stage in my career as a data engineer in a tech industry, where I can solve interesting problems and make an impact. Let\'s connect.
