About Prasad Khisti
In my two-decade journey through banking and technology, I’ve led transformative projects and strategic initiatives that drive innovation and operational excellence. Currently, I am spearheading a comprehensive Web Application Firewall (WAF) program at HSBC, implementing solutions across platforms such as F5 Advanced WAF, NGINX App Protect, Barracuda WAF, Akamai Kona Site Defender (KSD), Google Cloud Armor, and ModSecurity Integrated Custom WAF solutions. These deployments protect critical applications from threats like SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), DDoS attacks, and other vulnerabilities while ensuring compliance with security standards.Apart from this program, I also serve as the Technology Control Owner for Backup and Recovery, Third-Party Network Connections, and Vulnerability Management. In this capacity, I oversee 1,600 applications and servers, ensuring data integrity through robust backup strategies, managing secure third-party network integrations, and driving effective vulnerability remediation efforts to mitigate risks.I am highly experienced in IT Strategy and Risk Management, aligning technology efforts with organizational goals while addressing operational and cybersecurity risks. Additionally, I specialize in Application Lifecycle Management and modernizing legacy platforms to enhance efficiency and unlock innovation opportunities. One of my notable achievements was navigating the demise of Pivotal Cloud Foundry by helping the team migrate seamlessly to Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and an internal Kubernetes platform. This transition was completed on schedule, ensuring operational continuity while leveraging Kubernetes’ scalability.A career highlight was leading a $60M Greenfield project that united diverse teams to deliver on time and within budget. Additionally, I spearheaded the transition from monolithic systems to microservices architecture at BNY Mellon, unlocking operational flexibility and innovation.Managing internal teams and vendor resources has been a critical aspect of my role. I foster collaboration by ensuring clear communication, setting performance metrics, and driving accountability. Leveraging vendor relationships strategically allows me to mitigate risks while optimizing costs and delivering innovative solutions. If you’d like to discuss IT strategy or fintech insights, feel free to connect via email or LinkedIn Messaging!Strategy | Transformation | Risk | Cloud Computing (AWS/GCP)| Agile | Project/Program/Portfolio | Technology Controls | Vulnerability | ALM | WAF | Kubernetes

In the role of Senior Associate Director at HSBC, leading strategic programs has been both challenging and rewarding. Working on European Central Bank initiatives brought opportunities to implement cutting-edge cloud security solutions such as Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Network Segmentation. This work has helped bolster cybersecurity measures for sensitive applications considerably. One standout achievement was managing the successful decommissioning of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), which positioned my team as leaders in executing such critical initiatives ahead of schedule. Each project undertaken brings new challenges but also immense satisfaction from contributing to meaningful advancements in technology strategy within banking.Technology Control Owner for - Backup and Recovery Control, Third Party Network Connections and Middleware Vulnerability Management.Competencies: Strategic Program Leadership, Cybersecurity Implementation, Vendor Coordination.
