My PhD research explores the potential of role-playing games as tools for making sense of various actions required to be taken by individuals and collectives to mitigate and adapt to climate change. It focuses on games played in a group set-up where a sense of togetherness enables sharing of personal anecdotes and dilemmas. Based on the design and evaluation of two role-playing games I have developed a design framework that I am currently refining with the help of experts in climate change education, climate change communication, environmental psychology and serious game design.
