About Pranjal Ranjan

As a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech\'s Center for Advanced Innovation in Agriculture (CAIA), I lead the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Research Group, developing hybrid deep learning architectures for natural language processing and generative AI applications. I also design NLP systems for analyzing and generating text data, with a focus on agricultural and business contexts. My research has resulted in five publications in the domains of deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing.I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, specializing in Machine Learning, at Virginia Tech, with a 4.0 GPA. I have completed courses such as Advanced Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Applied Machine Learning, and Time Series Analysis. Before joining VT, I worked as a Big Data Developer at UBS, where I applied natural language processing techniques and built data pipelines for extracting insights from structured and unstructured data. Key personal projects I\'ve developed include a Sales Reporting System on Azure, which integrates generative AI capabilities for data-driven insights; a Text-to-SQL Generator using large language models to convert natural language to SQL queries, improving database accessibility; and an LLM Prompt Recovery System, a novel approach to recover original prompts in text rewriting tasks, relevant for content moderation and authorship attribution.
