About Pranitha Maganty

I graduated from the University of Washington with my B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. After graduation, I went into the Electronic Design and Automation (EDA) industry in which I have gotten to work with very experienced engineers in the world of hardware design and verification. Because I worked in a client-centric role at Siemens EDA, I was required to be well-trained on a broad range of technologies, languages, and frameworks. This includes programming languages like Verilog and C and scripting languages like Python and Bash. There is also a major social aspect to this role, meaning I have a responsibility of articulating complex ideas to engineers of all different backgrounds, ages, and experience levels. As a result, I’ve gained a great deal of technical and social confidence as well as a desire to broaden my scope even further – which brings me to why I have also entered the world of software!I was really interested in getting a good grasp on the software world so I took a 6-month Full-Stack Web Development course in my free time. I realized, while different in many ways from the hardware world, there are a lot of similarities in the way of thinking and developing in both. I soon gained the opportunity to do web development for a non-profit organization, Step-Up Tutoring, as a part-time role. It is a great organization that provides free online tutoring for hundreds of kids in the LA area. I had been tutoring with them for some time and decided I wanted to gain and contribute my technical skills as well! In this role, I got to be involved in designing and developing a platform for tutors to create and customize lesson plans.Today, I am working as a software engineer at Blend, where I get to use the full culmination of skills to contribute to an advanced, fintech company working to digitize the banking world. My journey to where My journey to where I am has been incredibly rewarding. I’m very lucky to have had the opportunity to work in and learn from different roles and industries throughout my career. I hope to continue moving forward in my career with an open mind and a desire to contribute to meaningful outcomes.In my non-technical free-time – I love being outdoors! Nature brings me a lot of inspiration and release that I translate into my work.
