About Pranav N.
Pranav graduated law from Government Law College, Mumbai with a Gold Medal and began his legal career in 2011 with a law firm established by ex-J. Sagar Associates’ and ex-Wadia Ghandy & Co.’s partners. Prior to joining MDP & Partners as a partner, he worked with ALMT Legal in a senior role. Pranav’s total work experience spans over 12 years during which he was employed by industry leaders such as J P Morgan Chase, BDO Haribhakti India and Sutherland Global Services (Symantec Norton anti-virus projects) and gained exposure in fields of banking, finance, education, international trade, employment, technology, business consulting, legal audits and risk management. Pranav’s main practice area includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital deals, cross-border collaborations, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, exchange control, family arrangements, intellectual property matters and general corporate and commercial contracts. Pranav has also developed sector specialisation and has been regularly advising clients in IT & ITES, e-commerce and technology space.Pranav is an experienced negotiator and has represented clients in deals which involved global investors/MNCs and investment funds. Apart from a strong work career, Pranav has been active in other growth activities. Pranav was instrumental in the launch of an in-house newsletter and magazine for his MBA institution and was appointed as its Chief Student Editor. He had also organised a National Level B-School Competition on the topic of ‘Consolidation in Indian Banking Industry – The M&A Way’ on behalf of his institution. Pranav has written papers on ‘Deal analysis of MTN–Bharti–Zain: Africa Entry Strategy’ and ‘Leveraged Buyouts – Deal Focus Tata-Corus’.
