ABOUT PRAMOD THUBE
An English Language Teacher from Pune, India; having 13 years of experience in teaching English. Started an initiative called Life Skills Studio that intends to inculcate essential Life Skills like empathy, critical thinking, creative thing, self-awareness, and so on, through different learning experiences in his students. It focuses on addressing three main areas of development: knowledge, attitude, skills. Inspired from ‘The Art of Happiness’ written by his holly highness Dalai Lama, the Humane Happiness project is an international collaborative project, is my brainchild. Over 250 educators from 40 different countries along with their 3496 students have joined their hands in this project to make the world a happier one. My mission is simple. To instill compassion in the student fraternity in these unusual times and let everyone explore different ways to attain and spread happiness. Humane Happiness focused on some of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations and 10 Life Skills laid down by the World Health Organization. This is a research-based project wherein several online surveys are utilized to collect and analyze data. The detailed project report will be published soon. So far Life Skills Studio has arranged for several virtual activities enabling students to visit many counties virtually, attend workshops and lectures of many renowned educators from different parts of the world. Students also have celebrated the Global Ganesh Festival (a virtual gathering of educators aimed at the cultural exchange), attended Saturday Discussions every week based on SDGs. Students also have taken part in Take Action Project that aims at spreading the word about practicing SDGs to make this world a better place to live. We have also arranged a series of interviews called \'A dialogue with Women Power\' inviting some of the powerful women from our society. Life Skills Studio believes that the true purpose of education is to prepare our children for a wholesome life and not merely for careers. We are focusing on Project Based Learning for this purpose.
