About Prakash Sangolgi
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARYThroughout my 12 years of experience in biotechnology, I have focused extensively on enzyme-based product development, particularly for non-food & food segments like textile, distillery, human and animal nutrition. My current role as a Senior Scientist at Absolute® - Xenesis involves leading a team dedicated to the development of nutraceutical and pharmaceutical enzymes, proteins, and sweeteners. This includes coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure the successful production and downstream processing of these enzymes. For instance, I have developed analytical tools for the detection and quantification of human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) and proteins, which are critical for nutritional applications. Additionally, I have successfully developed three products aimed at agricultural segments, including bio-fertilizers and biostimulants, showcasing my ability to bridge the gap between nutrition and agricultural biotechnology. My previous experience at Advanced Enzyme Technologies further solidified my expertise, where I led studies on in-vitro digestion of animal feed to evaluate feed efficacy and conversion rates. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a robust understanding of enzyme formulation, stability studies, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that the products I develop meet both market needs and regulatory standards.MY CORE COMPETENCIES• Molecular Biology & Microbiology: Molecular cloning and recombinant protein expression in E. coli system. Microbial isolation, identification, and handling (Bacteria & fungi), scale-up process development (shake-flask, bioreactor).• Downstream processing: Protein purification (salting-out, dialysis, ultrafiltration, filter-press, tangential flow filtration (TFF), chromatography techniques: ion-exchange, affinity, hydrophobic interaction, size-exclusion; ÄKTA Explorer system).• Biophysical Techniques: Native-PAGE, SDS-PAGE, two-dimensional (2-D) gel electrophoresis. fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism, Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), protein-ligand interactions.• Biochemical & analytical techniques: Enzyme assays. enzyme kinetics & method development, nutritional profiling, Thin-layer chromatography (TLC), fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), UV/Visible, Fluorescence spectroscopy.
