About Prajit Mitra
Infrastructure Specialist/DevOps:I\'ve been working in the Configuration/B&R Management area in an Agile environment for more than 15 years. During these years I\'ve enjoyed thoroughly leading/supporting Healthcare products in a highly regulated environment which undergoes multiple audits like SAS70/CHESS/FDA throughout the year. I relish the challenges when faced with a daunting task of migrating a highly customized ClearCase environment which affected around 500 users in multiples sites in 3 different continents (multiple administrators tried to accomplish without any success for 5 yrs). I\'m passionate about working on challenges/tasks which will ultimately help the organization to be successful. I\'m an avid learner and believe in continuous learning and my current subject is Cloud computing infrastructure and devops. I\'ve avid interest in infrastructure management since the start of my career, which helps me in coming up with decisions while deploying new environment related to Server sizing, storage as well as virtualization.Significant Achievements:• Came up with unique custom way to deploy Windows on custom hardware and kept the deployment time inside 7 minutes (start of Image till desktop available to end-user) using the existing Windows Imaging technology. • Virtualized the entire legacy Solaris environment running 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 10 on legacy SUN hardware Sun Enterprise E3500s and SUN Fire using Stromasys\'s Charon-SSP, legacy SPARC emulator.• Participated and lead(CM related activities) with the CI (Continuous Integration) team in to reduce compile time from 6+ hours to <30 minutes by replacing ANT with Gradle Migrated from IBM BuildForge to Open Source Jenkins for Continuous Integration.• Planned, managed, executed the migration of entire ClearCase infrastructure (supporting more than 500 users across the Globe) from legacy AD to the corporate AD which lead to significant cost savings from IT perspective e.g. PCs don’t need to be set in multiple into multiple AD domains, no multiple AD user/group management, users don’t need to manage multiple user-ids in multiple AD, retirement of legacy AD.
