We are at the core of it all. We build systems and algorithms that power the nerve center of Amazon Transportation Systems. We are the Middle Mile Routing and Optimization team. It is hard enough to build solutions that will ensure all loads carrying customer deliveries are planned to meet their delivery goals, we also do it at the cheapest cost possible, with driver safety and experience as a primary tenet along with reducing empty miles. That is not it. We also build systems and solutions ensure that all re-usable transportation equipment is repositioned with the least cost, by leveraging the backhaul logistics. Now we are extending these capabilities to serve external customers. These are NP hard problems, testing the limits of the existing mathematical research and needs never-heard software solutions to be able to continuously plan and absorb any variance in plans. I lead multiple teams in this space and work with a glorious group of people. We are almost always hiring so if you are interested in this space, do ping.
