I founded MART in 1993, a rural marketing consultancy firm working in emerging markets with a vision to become the most respected employee owned consultancy firm creating innovative and substantial solutions for the poor. MART is a ‘Business Mind, Social Heart’ organization based on spiritual principles and family values. We have conceived several new concepts, like ‘micro-finance to mirco-enterprise’, ‘public private partnership’ for development sector and ‘rural marketing’ as an important growth strategy for corporate. I introduced the subject of \"Rural Marketing” in Business Management Schools in India and Bangladesh. I have also authored the most comprehensive \'Rural Marketing\' book, for students and practitioners alike. I have been Marketing Advisor to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and have served on Prime Minister Office and Chief Minister Committees on rural development as also national committees of Reserve Bank of India and similar institutions. I am a Consultant with the World Bank and United Nations and fortune 500 companies. I am a regular speaker at CEO forums in India and abroad on emerging markets, BOP consumers and innovations for inclusive growth.My career spans 50 years in marketing, first 18 years working with Exide, Bosch and Denso in the corporate, and the next 27 years, in both development and corporate sectors.
