About Prachit Gupta

I’m a Master’s student in Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, working at the Advanced Controls Research Laboratory under Prof. Naira Hovakimyan. My research focuses on combining the formal guarantees of classical control with the robustness and adaptability of modern AI methods. My interests lie in human–robot interaction, multi-agent systems, safety-critical control, and robust adaptive control. I approach research with curiosity and an open mindset, always seeking opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow beyond my current expertise.I hold a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Control Systems from IIT Bombay, where I spent over three years working hands-on in robotics, developing strong technical and interdisciplinary skills.As the Technical Advisor of Team Aerove, IIT Bombay, I engineered complete electronics stack as well as flight control systems for multiple drones and oversaw system integration and testing. Our team earned several international honors, including three awards at the Unmanned Aerial Systems Challenge UK and a special mention at the International Aerial Robotics Competition.I was also a MITACS Globalink Research Fellow at Queen’s University, Canada, where I worked with Prof. Matthew Pan to develop robotic platforms for safe campus operations.I am always eager to connect with like-minded professionals and explore new opportunities in the field.
