About Prabhanjan Alankar

I\'m a Water Resources Engineer with a passion to solve tough challenges in the water environments. I have experience in hydrological & hydraulic modelling, flood risk/impact assessments, flood economics and applications of GIS and Remote Sensing in water resource projects.I\'ve experience in delivering and providing technical support to wide variety of projects - from individual housing developments to various large infrastructure schemes (airport/railway/highway), engineering design projects, strategic flood risk decisions, policy making etc.I\'m competent in combined 1D-2D modelling of surface water drainage, watercourses and floodplains with FM-TUFLOW-ESTRY softwares. I\'ve good experience in different hydrological methods to estimate the design flows. I use various GIS packages for spatial analysis of data and mapping. I also work on analysis of satellite images.I\'ve demonstrated abilities in training & development and capacity building of the teams in technical skills, providing bid support to various projects with technical and commercial inputs, and resourcing and mentoring.Geographies that I\'ve project experience include India, UK, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Australia and Middle East.My professional goal is to use my knowledge and skills to solve complex challenges such as climate change, and offer sustainable solutions to make the world a better place.
