ABOUT PORTER HARDY
In 2012, I embarked on a journey to embrace my dream of starting a brewery. Leaving a legal career that encompassed working in both a firm and in an in-house capacity, I left that safe path behind to fulfill my need to create. Since founding Smartmouth Brewing, I have discovered that I truly enjoy managing people and crunching data in spreadsheets. I know these seem like opposites, but I love that yin and yang of engagement and quiet calculation. Mostly, though, I love anything that helps me create a sense of community and brings people together. Whenever I need a boost I go out into our tasting rooms and see people relaxing and enjoying time with friends, family and neighbors. I am passionate about creating spaces for employees to thrive, neighbors to converse and making exceptional beer to bring them all together.
