ABOUT POLLY STRYKER

I’m a producer, editor, reporter and podcaster who meets deadlines and makes things happen. I work currently as a producer for Audible (formerly Wondery). I’ve also worked for more than 15 years in public media (KQED, KPCC, KPBS) in California, editing and producing statewide daily news and interview programs, including The California Report and AirTalk. I’ve also edited and reported for the 9-county Bay Area news and science desks, including a stretch as the Covid reporter during the Delta winter surge. Assignments have taken me from the very top of the state to both sides of the California-Mexico border, working with numerous journalists to cover stories like the devastation of Paradise to childhood separation at the border. Beyond the news, I’m passionate about storytelling that crosses cultures, reveals human truths and shines light in dark places. My portfolio includes producing for: Audible, Wondery, Quanta Magazine\'s podcast, The Joy of wh(Y), Adaptivity, the Center for the Developing Adolescent’s podcast and the World Affairs podcast, hosted by Ray Suarez. I am an immigrant to the U.S. and consider myself to be a global citizen. I grew up in Cairo, and I believe deeply in cultural sensitivity and connecting people to elevate the conversation. I read, write and speak intermediate Egyptian Arabic. Awards: Society of Professional Journalists (Southern- and Northern California chapters), Radio and Television News Directors Association of Northern California, LA. Press Club, Conard House Award (mental health reporting) and a Taste Award.
