I’m a career journalist with an eye for a story and the style to tell it. With multiple awards for reporting and feature writing, I have experience covering a broad range of topics and events. I tell people I’m the only person in history who ever witnessed a gas chamber execution and opened for Robin Williams in the same job. In my current position at the Nutrition Business Journal, my job is to spot trends before they’re trends and see the story behind the story (hint: it usually has something to do with money!). In the course of that reporting, I have developed a deep network of sources and a perspective on challenges facing the dietary supplement and natural products industries. I’m known for launching NBJ’s first-ever Dark Issue and bringing my feature-writing talents to use on projects like the Road to Natural series. Also - for an odd number of people perusing my profile - Yes, you found me. I\'m the guy who wrote perpetually viral \"greatest movie synopsis of all time\" – \"The Wizard of Oz\" Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again. I wrote the Oz joke in one sentence and I won the award the for best news writing in California with a epic. I’ve written 2-word headlines and I’ve written a corporate memoir. I’ve written 10-likes-per-second jokes on Facebook, and I’ve written white papers on PhD-level energy economics. My young adult novel, Off Trail, comes out in May, 2021.
