I am a partner at Stone King LLP Solicitors specialising in employment and transport law. I am widely recognised as a leader in the transport sector.I qualified at the bar and subsequently became dual qualified as a solicitor-advocate. I have acted as advocate in court, employment tribunal and Public Inquiries on hundreds of occasions.However, a key part of my practice is advising clients on how to avoid getting to court, including holding employees to account for performance, negotiating delicate employee exits, and subsequent settlements.In the course of my practice, I became the first (and thought to be the only) solicitor appointed to the panel of Treasury Counsel and, in that capacity, acted as advisor and advocate for the government in matters primarily relating to employment disputes. As well as strict professional practice, I am an experienced trainer. I have written courses and trained for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy both in the UK and the USA, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.I have been listed in The Lawyer Hot 100 of legal professionals.Professional memberships include the Employment Law Association, Freight Transport Association, Confederation of Passenger Transport and The Honourable Society of Grays Inn.I was a Non-Executive Director in the UKSkills and WorldSkills group of companies for 8 years.I was born in Tanzania then spent my formative years in Melbourne, Australia before returning to the UK to complete my education and professional qualifications. My main non-vocational interests are my family and a wide variety of sports including triathlon and skiing.
