I am an experienced physician leader with deep knowledge and experience in allergy, respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic medicine, military medicine, aerospace medicine, therapeutic area and health systems medical affairs, and clinical research. I am an internist and allergist-immunologist by training, have a master’s degree in health care management, and have a strong interest in leadership, health care quality, and clinical outcomes. I enjoy distilling complicated information into an easily understood framework. With more than 30 years of experience in medicine, I have had the opportunity to teach patients, the general public, medical students, residents, fellows, and peers in the clinical setting, academic setting, society meetings and congresses, industry-sponsored events, patient advocacy events, and television appearances. I bring a collaborative leadership style to solving problems, and I have led teams to successfully accomplish goals with strong positive patient impact in a variety of settings including my clinical allergy practice, a busy clinical research unit, a large Veteran’s health care system, a national professional allergy specialty society, and a leading pharmaceutical company.
