All our gear hobbing and gear shaping machines are \"state of the art\" with high spindle speeds capable of taking advantage of the latest in gear cutting tool technologies. This allows us to provide the best value along with the highest quality in gear cutting for our customers. First Gear is strategically located to allow economical and one day LTL service to most of the Midwest. First Gear offers precision gear hobbing utilizing the latest cnc gear hobbing, gear skiving and gear shaping equipment for spur gears, helical gears and splines. Certified on our PECo CNC gear analyzers. Our skiving capability can be a viable substitute for gear grinding in many cases. Most of our machines have auto-loading capability allowing us to be very competitive at high volume gear hobbing of spur gears and helical gears. Our machines are incredibly accurate and will maintain close tolerances day in and day out. Statistical process control is integrated into our PECo gear inspection machines for further monitoring and controlling processes.
