About Phil Schneider

Phil is a systems-minded leader with a passion for mission-driven organizations and development with the skillset to turn visions into reality. Phil is currently serving as Director of Operations at the G.A. Avril Company, a closely held, 4th generation family operated business in Cincinnati, Ohio.Phil began his career as an AmeriCorps Teaching Fellow. While working in the classroom, Phil took on the challenge of solidifying the operations of the school. He obtained his MBA from Assumption College and became Nativity\'s first Business Manager in charge of finance, IT infrastructure, recruiting, physical plant, and human resources.With a desire to work for a mission-driven organization with a national impact, Phil took the opportunity to become the Director of Operations & Human Resources for Building Excellent Schools, a national nonprofit dedicated to training leaders to take on the demanding work of leading high-achieving, college-preparatory urban charter schools. Here, Phil led the search for a new national headquarters and managed a build-out and seamless relocation to accommodate rapid staff growth and program expansion. To ensure this expansion was successful, Phil built an operations team that supports a set of nationwide training programs with over 1,200 participants annually. In addition to his fiduciary responsibilities, Phil managed the planning, acquisition, and rollout of IT hardware and software to support staff and programs. Relocating to Cincinnati in 2015, Phil served homeless and at-risk Veterans as the state Director of Program Operations with Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio, he managed a statewide collection of $10.7 million in Federal grants. As Regional Director of Advancement and Operations for IDEA Public Schools in Ohio, Phil launched IDEA\'s newest region of high-performing public schools through donor management, board governance, public relations management, and operational planning and oversight. Phil holds a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, an MBA from Assumption College, and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
