ABOUT PRAJNA BHANDARY
I’m a cybersecurity researcher and PhD candidate in Computer Science focused on applying machine learning to real-world security problems. My work sits at the intersection of ML, threat intelligence, and adversarial behavior, with an emphasis on building detection and analysis systems that operate under noisy, real-world conditions.I’ve worked in industry research and engineering roles at Palo Alto Networks (Unit 42), IBM’s CISO organization, and in financial services, where I’ve built and evaluated ML-driven workflows for threat detection, investigation, and automation. In parallel, my academic research explores ransomware behavior, anomaly detection, and failure modes in AI-driven security systems. I’m interested in opportunities that combine cybersecurity expertise with applied machine learning and systems thinking, particularly work that translates research ideas into production impact.
