About Prakash Janakiraman

I\'ve worked as an engineer and technical executive on global scale consumer internet applications for nearly 30 years, including early search and portal services like Excite@Home, comparison shopping at Shopping.com, and mapping at Google Maps. I left Google to become the technical co-founder of Nextdoor, the world\'s largest neighborhood social network with nearly 100M verified neighbors across 11 countries. From inception through the company\'s 2021 IPO (NYSE:$KIND), I served in a number of executive leadership roles including VP Engineering, Chief Architect, and Head of DEIB.Since leaving Nextdoor in late 2022, I remain committed to bridging communities together - both online and offline. I returned to UC Berkeley to complete a bachelor\'s degree in Sociology, have traveled around the world, and engaged with non-profit organizations while continuing to advise and invest in early stage startups.
