About Piyush Tank
I started my career in development economics academia, using large-scale experimental methods to study labor markets, social networks, and behavioral economics. Goal was to scientifically understand the root causes of poverty and drive policy changes to address them.While exploring Machine Learning and Big Data at the University of Chicago, I saw an opportunity to apply this scientific rigor to software at scale.At Dick’s Sporting Goods, I moved from theory to production, developing the machine learning model that predicts Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) for online orders, alongside various other e-commerce fulfillment engines.Now at Capital One, I am focused on the bigger picture: Machine Learning Infrastructure. I work on standardizing the model development process to ensure we get more reliable, high-performing models to market faster.
