I\'m a South African-Canadian lawyer specializing in international arbitration (commercial and investment) and related commercial litigation.I have represented businesses, foreign investors, and sovereign states in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Procedurally, I have experience with most major arbitration rules, including those of the ICC, ICSID, LCIA, ADRIC, SIAC, and UNCITRAL. While I specialize in form, I am a subject-matter generalist; in addition to international business and foreign investment, I have experience in shareholder disputes, maritime law, IP and technology, constitutional and administrative law (incl. public governance and elections), mining and energy, transportation, and, most recently, space law. Uniting these diverse areas is a passion for advocacy in all its forms.Outside of work, I am a seasoned orator with a creative streak. I am a classically trained percussionist, an ex-podcast host, and a former debater who remains active in the moot community. I enjoy chess, photography, and historical fiction, and have built computers since I was a child. Meanwhile, my experience as a first-generation Canadian instilled in me a deep love of travel, as well as a fascination with global politics, religion and culture, and world history.
