About Mariana Pirela
As an undergraduate Research Assistant at Tulane University, I am part of a team working to improve orthopedic implants through research and 3D printing. We are focused on enhancing the MTOWI tibial implant to improve stability and bone integration, aiming to improve patient outcomes.In addition to my research, I serve as the Student Coordinator for the Sierra Leone Prosthetics Project, where I help design and distribute prosthetic devices. Working with TOM Global, our team is dedicated to improving global access to medical technology.Greek life has played an important role in my college experience. As the Director of Lifetime Membership for Tri Delta and the incoming VP of Chapter Programming and Development, as well as Director of the Greek Ambassadors Program, I’ve had the chance to grow as a leader and give back to my community.
