Built state-of-the-art weather nowcasting system in collaboration with the UK Meteorological Office, based on deep generative models of radars (Nature 2021). Pioneered ethical computational creativity at DeepMind, working on generative collage 2022) and evaluating co-writing screenplays using language models and Dramatron (SIG CHI 2023). Led research on Deep Reinforcement Learning-based agents that learn to navigate in virtual and photographic environments. Open-sourced code and environment for training deep RL agents in Street View. Published work at ICLR 2017, Nature 2018, NeurIPS 2018, CoRL 2018, ICCV 2019 and 2020.
