As a contractor for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through Caduceus and loyal source government services. I maintain the health and safety of United States citizens by providing screening, education, and support related to the Coronavirus pandemic to travelers entering the country at Boston Logan International Airport. I also provide integral public health services and substantive technical program implementation, strictly following CDC COVID-19 guidelines to determine if an individual is clear to enter the country. Some of the key elements of my job include: • Conducting risk assessments interviews and medical evaluations, collaborating with Quarantine Medical Doctors (QMO) and Global Migration Task Force (GMTF) to assess travelers from other countries as they come through Customs and Border Protection. • Screening passengers for biometrics such as coughing and difficulty breathing. Checking temperatures (no touch) upon arrival. Record temperature results, conducting entry and quality assurance of data into Quarantine Activity Report System (QARS). • Reporting cases of positive and negative responses according to established CDC protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements Coordinating safe transport of ill or exposed travelers to appropriate health care facilities. • Assessing passenger demeanor that might indicate an individual is infected. Reacting calmly to passenger situations, maintaining safety, expediting procedures, and diffusing emotionally charged situations with assertive, respectful interactions. • Providing education about COVID-19 to wide variety of passengers with varying degrees of public health knowledge, including information on 14-day isolation and quarantine procedure, COVID- 19 symptoms, and Check and Report COVID-19 (CARE) kits. • Collaborating with experts and partners in public health, including health scientists, government officials, and public health experts from private industry.
