About Pinak Parate
My name is Pinak Someshwar Parate, currently a 3rd year undergraduate student in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at Indian Institute of Engineering Science, Shibpur.During my summer internship at IISER Bhopal, I gained hands-on experience in semiconductor device design, thin-film deposition, lithography processes, probe fabrication, and semiconductor characterization. At my home institute, I also explored the ultimate limits of analyte detection using graphene-based biosensors, which strengthened my interest in nanoscale sensing technologies. Alongside my academic and research interests in semiconductor device fabrication and process engineering, I am experienced in tools such as Synopsis Sentaurus 3D, COMSOL Multiphysics, Python, and KLayout, and more.Using these experiences, I aim to learn more about the emerging semiconductor materials, device designing, and fabrication processes and continue working at the intersection of materials science and electronic devices.Outside academics, I enjoy mountain trekking, trail walking, exploring new places, photography, reading and also playing video games.
