Ensure staff adherence to all systems, protocols, and procedures as required by New York State Law and agency policy, providing essential training and instruction to new Behavior Intervention Specialists. Develop and implement customized behavior modification programs designed to support and assist 50+ residents throughout seven locations; continually assess and modify ongoing programs and post-intervention behaviors. Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions, discussing existing behaviors, mindfulness, and the option of healthier responses and coping skills. Assist highly agitated and upset clients by applying crisis intervention skills and providing emergency assistance. Compile and prepare psychological evaluations to provide accurate information and descriptions of new and existing residents, reviewing all evaluations to ensure alignment with state regulatory requirements. Selected Contributions- Received accreditation from The Council on Quality (CQL) and Leadership in Support for People with Disabilities and selected to be a CQL interviewer- Assisted CQL operations for ACLD by collaborating on two sub-committees: Factor 8- Positive Services and Supports and Factor 3- Building Natural Supports. Supported three committees through discussion and collaboration with team members, successfully assisting the following committees: The Human Sexuality Committee, The Health and Safety Committee, and The CQL Leadership Awards Committee- Encouraged and strengthened continuing assistance and improvements for ACLD operations by drafting and presenting clinical presentations for the Clinical Ethics Committee and the Long Island Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities, communicating successes and strategies for high-profile clinical cases- Awarded three ACLD Team Service Awards (2010, 2011, 2013) for exceptional positivity and performance.
