ABOUT PILAR HERNANDEZ ROMERO
Born in Mexico, Pilar Hernandez has lived and worked in Montreal since 2009. Her goal has always been to help people to share their culture and assert their identity. She holds a bachelor\'s degree in art conservation, a diploma in museology, management and cultural policies and a specialization in cultural mediation from the Cégep de St-Laurent. Pilar has a Masters in Cultural Industries Management from HEC Montreal. She has more than 20 years of experience in the arts and culture sector, having worked as a restorer, curator and project manager in Mexico, France and Canada. During his Canadian experience, Pilar noted a lack of representation of First Nations and cultural communities in museum exhibitions. In addition, as a participant and visitor in the different cultural places, she perceived a certain homogeneity of the public. Deciding to take up these challenges, she decided to become a cultural mediator and manager. Pilar co-founded PAAL Partageons le monde, where she is Executive Director since 2015.
