ABOUT PIETRO INVERNIZZI
Pietro Invernizzi received his MD in July 1993 from the University of Milan, Italy. His clinical and laboratory research began in 1993 and in December 1996 he received his PhD in Gastroenterology. During his Phd Dr. Invernizzi was a research fellow at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH, USA. In Dr. Invernizzi became a gastroenterology specialist, and took a position as a post-doctoral researcher in the Liver Unit of the San Paolo Hospital School of Medicine of the University of Milan. From 2004 to August 2008 he was a Clinical Assistant. In March 2007 he also received an appointment as Assistant Adjunct Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Clinical Immunology, School of Medicine, University of California at Davis, CA, USA. From 2008 Dr. Invernizzi was head of the Liver Unit and Center for Autoimmune Liver Diseases, at the Humanitas Clinical and Research Center, Rozzano, Italy. From December 2015 works at the University of Milan-Bicocca and San Gerardo Hospital of Monza.Dr. Invernizzi’s areas of scientific expertise are autoimmune liver diseases (primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis and autoimmune hepatitis), and cholangiocarcinoma. Dr. Invernizzi has co-authored 127 original publications (not including correspondence) and 94 reviews in peer-reviewed journals with an H-index 51. Dr. Invernizzi is first or last author in about 50% of his publications. Dr. Invernizzi’s articles have included publications in leading scientific journals such as The Lancet, Nature Genetics, Ann Intern Med, Gastroenterology, J Hepatol, Hepatology, and J Immunol Current position- Director, Division of Gastroenterology and Center for Autoimmune Liver Diseases, Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Milan-Bicocca, Milan, Italy.
