About Pierry Benjamin
Pierry Benjamin began getting involved with the youth in his community and became highly active in “Teen Club”, a youth initiative that has been a part of his parish (Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ) for over 40 years. While there, Pierry was able to build relationships with adolescents in his local community. Realizing the value of mentorship, Pierry wrote the first marketing plan for The BIG Live Corp, a social enterprise that serves as a vendor for New York City Department of Education. Today, The BIG Live Corp has serviced dozens of schools. Pierry has been featured speaker on Hot97’s Street Soldiers with Fox Five journalist Lisa Evers, highlighted on Nickelodeon’s Stick Stickly’s St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, featured in a full length commercial with the Republican National Committee, has over 1,800 likes on Facebook, 2,400 followers on Instagram, over collective views on YouTube and over followers on Twitter. Pierry used his community advocacy, and outreach as the former Director of Grassroots Outreach for the New York State Republican Party. While there, Pierry lead trainings and grassroots outreach that turned community leaders into professional field organizers to run critical campaign operations. Pierry is continuously building his community; through awareness, training and promoting civic engagement.
Experience
New York State Director
Feb 2016 — Present · Queens, NY, US
As New York State Director of the Republican Leadership Initiative (RLI); I manage, train and empower volunteers and organizers through a six week national training program. Our goal is to equip grassroots leaders with the skills they need to work as professional field organizers in a presidential cycle. RLI is a key aspect of the RNC’s 2016 ground game strategy and will help groom the next generation of trained Republican field staff. RLI training will involve key aspects of building and running a grass-roots organization— one-on-one meetings, team building, house meetings, voter registration, workshops, strategy sessions, and voter engagement. Following the full-day initial training, RLI participants will receive periodic training throughout the program in more specialized fields. All training will be held in New York. The ideal candidate: • Has a passion for making a difference in their community• Has volunteered on campaigns in the past• Is a hard worker, willing to exceed their goals and deadlinesRLI Fellows must commit to 30 hours of work each week while RLI Associates must commit to at least 15 hours a week. If you are interested in dedicating yourself to the program but are not able to participate at those levels, please contact me. There is flexibility in scheduling and individual courses of work can be tailored to your needs. The most important thing is that you need to be motivated and you need to GET INVOLVED. This is #BIG!
