ABOUT PIERRE SIMPSON

Pierre is a Dora (Toronto\'s Tonys), Gémeaux-nominated and Rideau award-winning professional bilingual actor. His impressive list of Film & TV credits continues to grow. graduate of the University of Ottawa\'s bilingual Theatre program, his English Theatre credits include \"A Midsummer Night\'s Dream\"(Canadian Stage),\"When it Rains\"(2b theatre tour to Edinburgh and Mumbai),\"Habit\"(Luminato),\"Strawberries in January\"(Great Canadian Theatre Co.),\"It\'s A Wonderful Life\"(Theatre New Brunswick),\"Dangerous Liaisons\"(Third Wall Theatre),\"The Bookshop\" and a reading of \"Look Back in Anger\"(National Arts Centre). French theatre credits include the Canadian national tour of \"Les Médecins de Molière\"(Dora nomination and Rideau Award for Outstanding Performance),\"La Cantatrice chauve\",\"Le Dîner de cons\" and the title role in \"Dom Juan\"(Théâtre français de Toronto). Other awards include Théâtre Action\'s Artist of the Year, Prix d\'excellence du ministère de la culture de l\'Ontario and nominations for the Pauline McGibbon and John Hirsch Awards for emerging directors for \"Les Zinspirés 1, 2.0 & 3D\".(updated Aug 2022)-Finissant du Département de théâtre de l’Université d’Ottawa, Pierre a eu le grand bonheur de jouer chez la plupart des compagnies de théâtre franco-canadiennes. Entre autres, on a pu le voir au Théâtre français de Toronto dans “La Cantatrice chauve”, “Dom Juan\",\"Le Dîner de cons\" et \"Les Médecins de Molière\", production qui lui a valu un Prix Rideau et une nomination aux Prix Dora. Il a signé la mise en scène des \"Zinspirés 1, 2.0 et 3D\" au TfT. Au petit écran :\"Nikita\"(CW),\"The Border\"(CBC),\"Makinium”, “Medium & Val” (nommé aux Gémeaux),(Radio-Canada), “Léa Olivier” (illico), “Motel Monstre\",\"Météo+\",\"FranCoeur\"(TFO) ainsi que le court-métrage \"Let the Daylight Into the Swamp\"(ONF, TIFF). En tant que formateur, Pierre a animé pour le CAO, Apprendre par les arts, et Théâtre Action. Il s\'est vu décerner en 2006 le Prix d\'excellence de TA et le Prix d\'excellence du ministère de la culture de l\'Ontario.(mis à jour août 2022)
