Picture this: you\'re supervising twenty college athletes at the airport, en route to a competition. You arrive early—just in case. First hiccup: two athletes don’t get boarding passes. You troubleshoot, and they make it through security just in time.You finally board and exhale—until the pilot starts calling out names over the intercom. Two athletes are missing. They eventually rush on, avoiding eye contact, mumbling, “Sorry, our food was late.”Crisis averted… almost. At the hotel, you pull them aside. They look terrified. You ask what happened, what they were thinking, and how they’d handle it next time. You remind them life happens; but what mattered more was how they thought you\'d respond.That moment taught me that how I react and teach in tough moments matters more than the moment itself. It pushed me to learn each athlete\'s communication style, which was key to my success at Carolina.I’m team-oriented and driven to understand the people I work with. That understanding helps me streamline processes and create an environment where the whole team can thrive. I’m motivated by team wins, and that starts with trust, clarity, and shared goals.
