ABOUT PHOEBE A. TURNER

I am a future trainee solicitor at Linklaters (September 2025) after completing the 2023 Spring Vacation Scheme. Last July, I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) Politics and International Relations degree from the University of Nottingham. My final year centred around International Political Economy (IPE) and International Relations. My dissertation explored whether the economic impact of sanctions on Iran has altered its regional military and foreign policy, and what explained this outcome. I worked as a research assistant for Dr Tyler Kustra on his upcoming project on (receiver) government responses to sanctions. I currently work within the NHS. I enjoy this role a lot - my colleagues are very supportive and friendly, I know my daily tasks have an important social value, and I have developed many skills and character traits. For example, sitting on the department\'s reception desk forced me to become more confident over the phone, which I initially struggled with. I maintain records and timetables for the in-house post-graduate doctor and consultant education programme and administrate resuscitation courses held at my hospital.
