I commission and utilise labour market intelligence and advise national and local government on skills policy issues as pertains to the historic environment. I lead and support the heritage sector in the prioritisation, development and implementation of new skills initiatives Highlights include: • Establishing and Chairing cross sector Historic Environment Skills Forum; including development of sector wide Skills and Careers Action Plan• Chairing of Historic Environment Apprenticeship Trailblazer and creation of new level 5 apprenticeship in heritage construction• Co designing and implementing a cohesive Future Talent Programme for Historic England and widening this out for other sector employers • Committee Vice Chair and Assessor for accreditation of UK archaeology degree programmes for the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists

I work in the Sector Resilience & Skills Department at Historic England, leading sector development work around skills and creation of coherent career pathways for heritage. I advise government on skills policy issues as pertains to the historic environment and lead and support the heritage sector in the prioritisation, development and implementation of new skills initiatives, and in connecting education and skills with industry.I Chair the Historic Environment Skills Forum which published the Skills and Careers Action Plan (for England) for prioritising and collaboratively addressing major skills challenges for those who work in the historic environment. I am also Vice Chair of the CIfA /UAUK Degree Accreditation Committee and Chair of the Historic Environment Trailblazer, which has developed 7 new apprenticeship standards.I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) and a Trustee and Honorary Secretary of the Council for British Archaeology.
