About Phillip Peetz
Mr. Phillip Peetz possesses both electrical engineering design experience and electrical maintenance experience. He utilized this diverse background in assisting Burns & McDonnell (BMcD) project teams to deliver EP and EPC projects to midstream and downstream clients. In his recent design engineer role, Mr. Peetz participated in the specification development and procurement of PDC buildings, low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, and medium-voltage adjustable speed drives. Additional design experience included project scope development, project man-hour estimation, project schedule planning, low-voltage and medium-voltage one-line diagram development, low-voltage and medium-voltage schematic diagram development, and power system study experience using ETAP software. Mr. Peetz also participated in the BMcD Oil, Gas, and Chemical (OGC) Safety Committee, during which time he updated/consolidated a PPE Inspection presentation used for the 2020 BMcD OGC Virtual Safety Week. He also provided a presentation to OGC Electrical personnel regarding the need to consider maintenance activities during a project design process. Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, Mr. Peetz worked as an instrumentation and electrical maintenance engineer at the ExxonMobil integrated refinery/chemical plant complex in Beaumont, Texas. In these roles, Mr. Peetz provided technical support as needed to plant maintenance and operations personnel, participated in unit turnaround planning and execution, and assisted in the creation of annual electrical maintenance plans. Through these activities, Mr. Peetz gained experience in risk management and how this concept is applied by process plant managers to keep facilities running safely and profitably.
