Phil is the Florida Practice leader for KPMG’s Tax Practice. Prior to that, Phil had several national roles within the tax practice including the National Practice Leader for the Transactions and Cross Border Services group, a combination of International Tax, M&A, and Economic and Valuation Services. He was also the National Practice Leader for KPMG’s Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice, a group of nearly 400 professionals providing comprehensive M&A tax assistance. Phil joined KPMG as a partner in the M&A Tax practice in 2002. Prior to joining KPMG, Phil worked for 14 years providing M&A Tax advice for both private equity funds and Fortune 500 companies. As a partner at KPMG, Phil continues to advise private equity funds as well as domestic and foreign corporations on the tax implications of acquisitions, debt offerings, spin-offs, redemptions, and recapitalizations.Phil’s 35 years of experience includes structuring complex global transactions, providing both U.S. tax advice and assistance in structuring investments in non-U.S. jurisdictions such as India, China, Japan, Australia,and Europe.Phil has spoken at conferences for organizations such as the Tax Executives Institute and the American Bar Association. He has also authored and contributed to articles for industry publications including The Deal and Private Equity Analyst.
