   MUSC Children\'s Hospital is South Carolina\'s largest and most comprehensive pediatric health care center. MUSC Children\'s Hospital houses the only Level neonatal intensive care unit in the region, where the tiniest newborns receive state-of-the-art care. Our pediatric intensive care unit is staffed exclusively by trained pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists and specialized nurses. Founded in 1824 in Charleston, The Medical University of South Carolina is the oldest medical school in the South. As the largest non-federal employer in Charleston, the university and its affiliates have collective annual budgets in excess of $1.7 billion. MUSC operates a 750-bed medical center, educates and trains more than students and residents, and has nearly employees, including 1,500 faculty members.
