ABOUT PHILIPPA CLARKSON
Experience in mechanical engineering, tissue engineering and data engineering. At the core of my career is a love of learning. I am a highly creative and inquisitive engineer with a strong motivation to make a positive impact to the world. From a young age I had a strong interest in maths, patterns and mechanisms. During my mechanical engineering undergraduate degree, my individual project on the aortic heart valve led me to the field of medical engineering. My Tissue Engineering PhD project in neuroscience explored how neural stem cells interact with their physical environment. My background picture is of immunostained cells which I used in my research! I have worked on the development of a magnetoencephalograpy (MEG) brain scanner and on revision hip prostheses and their instruments for implantation. More recently I started my career in data engineering, following a passion for the capacity of data for healthtech.
