ABOUT PHILIPPA BRICE
I am a health and research policy leader who builds great teams, partnerships and initiatives to deliver intelligence, insight and influence, and create constructive change. I am also experienced in Board level strategic oversight and governance through multiple NED and trustee roles, including for the national R&D Forum. As Associate Director for Research & Impact for NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care System, I champion health and care research, especially in primary care, community and non-NHS settings, underpinned by effective engagement and collaborations. I lead the CPICB Research Office where our focus is on People Powered Research - maximising the benefits of research for patients, the public and professionals. We offer expert R&D services across half of the East of England; host and manage a portfolio of NIHR funded research in primary care and wider care settings; and lead and fund collaborative projects and programmes to support research capacity building, research inclusion and partnerships. I was previously Deputy Director of the PHG Foundation, a policy think-tank dedicated to making science work for health. My background is in biomedical science, health and care research, technology and innovation, with a long-standing interest in genomics and precision medicine; my specialisms include strategic stakeholder engagement and public affairs in life sciences and healthcare. I am also experienced in corporate strategy, management, income generation, and senior-level recruitment and mentoring.In my additional role as a public patient voice (PPV) representative on the Fetal, Child and Maternal Health (FCMH) of the DHSC National Screening Committee, I build on governance experience as a Non Executive Director of Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Healthwatch Peterborough to balance public and patient interests in advice to decision-makers.I have worked in the public, private and third sectors and have extensive experience of policy development, thought leadership and knowledge brokering. I led the secretariat to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Personalised Medicine (20••••20).
