I have gained a wide experience within the banking and payments sector, with a particular emphasis on the security and assurance of payment information.Following an introduction to retail banking early in my career with NatWest, I went on to join Mondex International, a pioneering e-Purse payment scheme, in an operations role, with responsibility for the preparation of card data, cryptographic keys and electronic cash. This provided a solid foundation in payment security as I later moved into an information security audit role for debit/credit card personalisation, manufacturing and PIN security, on behalf of MasterCard and Visa.I then had the privilege of working for the PCI Security Standards Council, contributing to the development and implementation of the Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) security standard, and chairing a Special Interest Group, by engaging with various stakeholders, including the payment card scheme brands.For the past ten years I have held the role of Bacs Bureau Inspector for Pay.UK (Third-Party Assurance Auditor), undertaking security assurance reviews aligned to ISO27002 security controls, for the protection of Bacs-related personal data, on behalf the Bacs scheme sponsoring banks/participants.
