ABOUT PHILIP MILLS

I am an experienced IT professional with extensive technical and commercial experience gained over 25 years working across technical, project management and commercial roles within the IT industry. I have excellent interpersonal skills and extensive leadership experience in both technical and commercial environments. Having worked across government, academia and industry, I am adept at building and maintaining strong relationships including negotiating contracts and partnership agreements.As Commercial Director of a cyber security scaleup company, I currently lead on technology commercialisation, go-to-market strategy, business development, bid and proposal management.I am a Software Engineering Masters graduate with a strong technical background across multiple technologies including core software systems, business process management, cryptography, access control (physical and electronic) and network security. I have experience of various team and technical lead positions progressing through project management and commercial roles including business development, strategic partner management and product/services sales. I have experience of working in high tech start-ups and SMEs, as well as working with several blue-chip multinational companies acrossmultiple sectors including telecommunications, financial services and cybersecurity.I am Chairman of the Aerospace, Defence and Security (ADS) NI Defence and Security Special Interest Group. I also represent the UK Government in international standardisation activity as Working PartyVice-Chair at the Security Group of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
