About Philip Micale
I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Economics & Finance and an additional major in Data Science, along with a certificate in Computer Science. My coursework spans advanced mathematics, data science, computer science, and economics, including probability theory, machine learning, macroeconomic theory, and data structures. This past summer, I interned in Private Wealth Management at Ameriprise Financial Services, where I focused on portfolio analysis and client research. I developed projects analyzing cash drag and risk concentration across portfolios, presented reinvestment strategies, and built investment dashboards to enhance client decision-making. I also contributed to equity research projects, including an in-depth analysis of the robotics sector, where I applied factor scoring, clustering techniques, and DCF modeling to identify investment opportunities.Previously, I worked in Private Equity at Saber Advisors, where I prepared investment briefs, supported buy-side transactions, and conducted industry research across software, healthcare, and emerging markets. I also interned at the United States Bankruptcy Court, where I automated financial data workflows using Python, and at Schafer-Cullen Capital Management, where I contributed to the firm’s “Country Report,” conducting macroeconomic and financial research across global markets with the Bloomberg Terminal.I am particularly interested in the intersection of investment research, data-driven analysis, and client-focused wealth management, with a focus on asset management firms and private banks. My technical skills include Python, R, SQL, Java, and the Bloomberg Terminal, which I leverage to solve complex problems and drive investment insights.I am eager to connect with professionals in asset management, private banking, and investment research, and welcome opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
