I serve as Chairman of HCVT where I focus on maintaining relationships with the firm’s strategic clients, leading client engagements, and mentoring current and emerging firm leaders. I co-founded HCVT in 1991 with fellow partners Jim Carlin and John Van Trigt, and served as the firm’s managing partner for two decades.Since its inception, HCVT has grown to become the 31st largest accounting firm in the United States and the Los Angeles region’s largest locally based CPA firm with more than 700 employees and partners. HCVT is known for its deep technical skills and ability to address the most complex tax issues associated with business entities and high-net-worth individuals.I address complex tax issues for clients in the real estate, private equity, professional services, and family office sectors. I have authored numerous technical articles on tax issues included in publications such as the Journal of Taxation, the BNA Bloomberg Tax Management Real Estate Journal, and co-authored the BNA Bloomberg Tax Management Portfolio on Real Estate Leases. A frequent guest speaker at the University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law Tax Institute and other professional organizations, I served as a part-time faculty member at the USC Master of Business Taxation Program and am a member of the USC Leventhal School of Accounting Board of Councilors. I am active in my community and serve in leadership positions on nonprofit boards.
