Serve as the principal advisor on issues pertaining to veterans affairs to the National Commandant and National Executive Director/COO. Responsible for the oversight, administration, and advancement of the Marine Corps League’s National Veterans Service Program, and maintaining expert knowledge of VA policy, legislative updates, and interagency interpretations to guide national strategy and service delivery.• Develop, prescribe, and implement national training standards, policies, and operational procedures for all accredited MCL National Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) across departments and detachments.• Supervise and certify all MCL-accredited VSOs; ensure ongoing professional development, compliance, and reaccreditation through workshops, seminars, and national conferences.• Oversee all Marine Corps League activities related to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, including claims advocacy, policy coordination, and program representation.• Assist Marine and veterans of all U.S. military branches including their dependents in securing federal and state benefits through direct advocacy and strategic program guidance.• Represent the Marine Corps League in veterans communities events and other professional forums to maintain interagency collaboration and alignment with national best practices.• Prepare, amend, and distribute national directives, regulations, and instructional materials to sustain an effective, compliant, and mission-driven veterans service infrastructure.
