About Philip Camp

An experienced data scientist and engineer who is keen to implement novel solutions for persisting problems affecting our society. Though my experiences vary, I have a common interest in using data to improve people’s lives. This may be in the form of building a new interactive tool to assist in disaster mitigation or in building a probabilistic wildfire model to help quantify the emerging risk, or in reviewing a private sports league’s detrimental assumptions for individual teams. I tend to use a variety of programs and languages to assist in my tasks and am eager to pick up relevant ones that I do not know. Currently, the tools I employ most often are open source languages such as Python or R, data visualization software like Tableau, Power BI, and ArcGIS Online, as well as GIS tools such as ESRI products, qgis, geopandas, and other useful programs and packages. I am truly passionate about problem-solving and research design and hope to continue to assist leading institutions -and more critically the people they serve- address issues most important to them.
