ABOUT PHILIP BURRELL

An accomplished and versatile senior executive with extensive leadership experience in strategic planning, change management, and operational delivery. As a Trustee Director of a Pension Scheme, I play a pivotal role in safeguarding members\' interests and ensuring the effective governance of pension assets. I am an active member of the Main Trustee Board, contributing to key decision-making processes across the Investment Committee, Defined Contribution (DC) Committee, and multiple working groups, including the Task Force for Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD), Risk Management, and Valuation.Before focussing solely on my trustee responsibilities, I was the Director of Training of the Babcock Marine Training business, overseeing the delivery of maritime training to national and international clients. During my 31-year military career, I served as the professional Head of the Royal Navy’s 230-strong specialist Training Management officer cadre. My expertise from this valuable experience spans strategic workforce planning, education, and training in complex environments.A skilled communicator, innovator, and leader of change, I bring a wealth of experience in governance, risk management, and organisational transformation. I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Chartered Manager, and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
