Reporting into the area director, responsible for supporting 13 logistics branches throughout the UK with circa 900 employees, consisting of 11 Branch Managers, Service Improvement Manager and Regional Transport Managers. Manage a turnover budget of £68 million, focusing on strategic planning and cost control to achieve financial targets.Operational headcount of 850 employees, utilising 550 vehicles across the UK servicing both SME and large multi-national organisations with circa 3.1m services per annum.Lead initiatives to enhance the safe transportation of high-value cargo, implementing rigorous security and risk management protocols with emphasis on safe, but efficient delivery.Delivery and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, driving business growth and customer satisfaction. Responsible for programming management of all field operations projects, new business implementations and business changes programmes. To provide project planning support to Branch Managers and other project managers as required and to monitor progress against key milestones. Ensure the area has effective and efficient utilisation of resources, including labour and vehicles, through optimum use of technology and through liaison with other areas by actively monitoring the area’s business performance against budgets, business plan and milestones.Develop competencies of Branch Managers and ensure effective succession plans are in place.
