Experience
Electrical Engineer
Jul 2021 — Present
Hardware design engineer for both one-off R&D designs and scalable mass production products. Project experience ranges from product-line 3D camera design to fully autonomous robotic systems. Highlights of experience are outlined below- Extensive experience with flexible circuits, controlled impedance over flex, and rigid-flex PCB design- Aluminum substrate PCB stackups for high-power components in small form factor designs- High-speed PCB design, specifically working with various interfaces like MIPI, HDMI, USB2/3.0, DDR4, PCIe, and Gigabit Ethernet (RGMII / MDI) where single ended / differential controlled impedance and crosstalk minimization are imperative- Designs using various low-speed interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422- High layer count PCB design (up to 14 layers) including both analog and digital layout- High density PCB routing, including 784 pad BGAs requiring dog bone or via-in-pad- High current Point-of-Load converter design optimization for minimum PCB footprint- Circuit design and command line interfacing with various embedded products including STM32 (multiple product lines), Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC, Qualcomm RB5 - Analog circuit designs vary from active over-voltage protection circuits to input conditioning for different types of analog signals- Safety circuit design for E-Stop circuits and redundant interrupts for brushless DC / traction control motors- LiFePO4 battery systems and charger integration in autonomous robotic systems - CAN bus design and debug, both using various COTS adapters (Kvaser / PCAN) or fully from scratch PCB designs using external or integrated (MCU / FPGA) CAN controllers- Grounds-up harness design and connector selection for robotic systems- Circuit grounding techniques for ESD and EMI/EMC compliance - Bench-level EMI debug using spectrum analyzer / nearfield probe - Lab bench automation using Python (PySerial / PyVISA)
